Reflections and impressions by Jan Haenraets on landscapes, gardens, culture, heritage, and conservation.

On ΞXPLΞARTH I share impressions and ideas about the world, with a focus on landscapes, culture, heritage and conservation.
I believe that sharing views and experiences can help to inspire us to look after the world and its heritage, to create healthy habitats, and to explore places in a smart and sustainable manner.

I enjoy documenting places through photography and to understand and feel the atmosphere and genius loci or spirit of place. I share information together with visual photographic impressions as it remains true that ‘a picture can tell a thousand words’.

As a landscape and heritage professional I believe in objectives such as those of UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, which strives towards a better and more peaceful world ‘…by promoting collaboration among nations through education, science and culture…’.

ΞXPLΞARTH promotes an understanding of the Earth and respect for culture, people and nature.
